Greenville Highland Games Greenville, SC 2010 Cooler weather, biggest crowd yet. His Royal Highnes (HRH) Prince Edward, third son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, was the guest of honor. It is believed that these games are the first games attended by a member of Royal Family outside the British Commonwealth. Miss America sang our National Anthem. A myriad of local, and state dignitaries attended attended. Some in kilt and some in casual dress. Truly Memorable Games
Lucky Us!!! We followed the rescue dogs in the Friday parade. WATCH YOUR STEP !!!
The large crowd was ten deep at some places.

2009 / 2008 Another hot day in June close to 100 F, very nice attendance and tent activity. Great parade and entertainment at the Friday night sponsors reception. Great city, county and state support of these games. A "signed" address to the Haggis was enjoyed by all Margaret Eliott of Redheugh, Chief of Clan Eliot, toasts the attendees Lady Margaret with ACS Tent Host and Past President Bill Janet with ACS Treasurer, Membership Chair, and Clan Piper Peter from Charleston, SC. 2007 A hot late spring day greeted us on the campus of Furman University, Greenville, SC site of the Greater Greenville Scottish Games and Highland Festival. This was the second year of the games and the first year for our tent at these games. We had a very busy and productive day. Festivities started with a parade through downtown Greenville on Friday evening. There were 80 positions filled with participants including: SC Lt. Governor, Greenville mayor, senators and representatives. Pipe bands, clans, local business sponsors, school bands and observers were plentiful. Crowds were from 3 to 6 rows deep down Main Street. It was really an impressive turnout and a true touch of Americana. A "Must Attend" games if you're in the area. Organizers were so busy planning this event to perfection, they did not consider the Armstrong reputation. We marched just behind the cattle (Chic-Fil-A) and adjacent to horse drawn carriages with lovely southern belles on board. Sooo tempting!!! But we were on our good behavior. Organizers recently reported: Paid attendance approaching 20.000; 22 Pipe Bands; 58 Clan Tents (about 45 different clans-editor); over 5,000 attended the Cailidh; and 4 Clan Chiefs from Scotland attended.
